Oprah Winfrey

Though Layman's Perspective focus is on apostasy "within" the church. I felt it necessary to cover Oprah Winfrey because of the fact she has become one of the chief promoters of "New Age" teachings and philosophy.

Oprah promotions includes:

  1. A 10 week course in miracles which can be attended via live internet sessions

  2. Promotion of the New Age book called  "The Secret"

  3. Gave an interview to Esther Hicks author of "The Secret". During this interview Esther Hicks went into her altered state of consciousness in which the spirit guide "Abraham" manifested itself ". Abraham is defined as a group of spirits who are spiritual teachers collectively known as "Abraham." Thus the reason why Esters refers to them as "They". During this time, Oprah asked Abraham  questions related the teachings of the "Secret".

  4. Invites New Age teachers on her show to promote new age teachings

With her strong influence, her ability to reach a world wide audience and her cult like following she is a spiritual danger to those who follow her. Oprah can clearly be called an apostate since she has rejected her Baptist Christian teaching which she said, "she started to question around age 27".

The one thing that makes Oprah particular dangerous is the fact that her spiritual evil is cloaked  behind her good works, this makes her spiritual deception much more heinous and allows Satan to use her more effectively in his program of deception. People naturally gravitate to her because of the works and ignore the eternal harm she is doing by promoting anti-Biblical New Age teachings.

Notice what the Bible says in 2 Cor 11:13-15

13     For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
14     No wonder , for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
15     Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds

In view of worldly deception the Bible admonishes us with the following from Col 2:8

"See
to it that no one takes  you captive through philosophy and empty  deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. "

The Church of Oprah Exposed

Oprah Interview Teachers of the Secret

Listen to Oprah interview Esther Hicks author of "The Secret" and the "spirit guide "Abraham" who possesses Esther's body along with numerous other spirits in which the one called Abraham is the spokesman.

One is immediately reminded of the The Demoniac  as recorded in Luke 8:26-39. There JeJeJesus referred to the spirits that possessed  the man as unclean spirits or demons.

Yet Oprah thinks she is providing enlightment to the those who listen to he.r

Oprah reason for accepting the "New Age"

Here she states her dislike for God being a jealous God.

Jesus came to show us Christ consciousness.

Jesus did not come to start Christianity.

Oprah denies that Jesus is the Way

Calls out for Spirits to enter her body for preparation and to enhance acting abilities.
The Oprah segment is "1 min 13 sec" into clip
